Moving Insurance and you
The belief in a blanket coverage being available to removalists that covers pretty much everything during a move is a common misconception, as no such coverage actually exists, therefore Moving Insurance is something that should not be overlooked as it ensures that should an accident happen with your belongings you will be covered for the cost of repairs or full replacement.
You may already be covered for relocation by your own home and contents insurance policy but check to make sure and if it doesn't cover you then definitely consider Moving Insurance for your own peace of mind. Also, some removalists may not accept liability for damage or breakages of items packed by you. Under Moving Insurance though, they do.

Customer Goods in Transit and Storage Insurance covers your belongings when something goes wrong resulting in damage as a result of accident or other that is not the fault of the removalist. Moving Insurance provides cover during the packing up, loading, transit, and unpacking at the other end. As insurances go, you should really consider this option especially when you move involves long distances.
The Financial Services reform act requires that a moving company arranging insurance must have all the appropriate licenses and qualifications so check to make sure that the removalist you've chosen has these if they are offering insurance.
